Photo Manipulation and Ethics
A. Mostly about how easy it is to edit photos nowadays. It also also gave a short history of photo editing, going back to the 1800s.
B. They both have used it in the past, but have started cracking down on editing photos as the news are supposed to be factual. The job of the news is to properly inform the public. If they are editing photos they are failing at this job.
C. I think the line is crossed when peoples opinion is formed or changed by a edit in a picture. Pictures edited to make a joke are ok. Editing a picture to make someone look better is very dishonest and sends out a bad message but I guess it is ok.
I believe this photo is the most unethical because Time magazine shows there opinion on the OJ case by blacking him out. Honestly it would more emotional to the American people to have just a normal picture of the man they trusted behind bars.
I think this photo is the most ethical because it is very obviously a joke picture. A republican sting this picture will not make them change there opinion. You can even see the first girls pony-tail in the background.
