Self Portrait vs Selfie
1. A selfie is a throwaway picture of oneself that is usually taken by oneself. A self portrait is a picture that is taken by someone else. Typically more effort is put into a self-portrait and a selfie a on the spot thing. Also Selfies are usually taken to document a event or a place, while self portraits are taken to say something about the person in question.
Selfies are pretty situational, but a self portrait can really mean something, so I guess I like them more. Selfies are easier to take, but they can be a good slice of life photo. But then again many selfies are terrible while most self portraits are good.

The websites main intention seemed to be a hub for photographers to post pictures, articles, and start contests. They wrote about everything from instagram, camera reviews, to photoshop tips. They had a very large selection of articles, a viewer could spend hours on the site and maybe take place in a contest. I don't think I will add it to my bookmarks, but it does seem like a site that would be fun to browse from time to time. I would probably recommend it to people looking for photography websites. It was very catchy and had a large selection of articles to choose from. I was almost sucked in while I was researching it.

This photo is not what is interesting about this article. But the story behind it is very interesting. There was a unknown old man who was in many paintings in Paris. He was in many paintings around the 1880s. Up until 2014, there was no effort to find out who the man was. Most people believe he is of Indian decent because of his beard and skin texture. Overall a very interesting story. The article is older. So it is possible that he has been found by now.
