Student of the Month Story
Who : April O'Neal
What: Getting Student of the month by saving the principles cat
Where: Outside
When:Near the end of school
Why: To get recognized by the principle.
How: By saving the cat from a tree.
But this was all part of Aprils plan. She said this in a latter interview "Saving the principles cat from the tree. I only saved the cat because I knew it was his. I knew I was gonna get a reward." The reproductions of this event have changed not only the school, but April as well.
As a direct result of her being named student of the month, most of Aprils teachers have left, and many of the students as well. Their reason being jealously according to April. She says this about the teachers "They quit out of jealousy."
But there have been some good effects from this. For one Aprils grades have improved, this is most likely because many of her teachers left as well as many of the better students. As they where mad about her being named student of the month,"I am not allowed to fail. My parents pressure me to do better than Cs. Hard." She has also had a improved social standing after becoming student of the month and saving the principles cat in from to of the whole school saying "I am at the top of the food chain now. I was at the bottom of the food chain, being student of the month has brought me up."
When asked what she thought of another student being student of the month next, she said that wouldn't happen because She would be the student of the month "every month for the rest high school."
When asked if she thought she deserved the title of Student Of the Month, she at first responded with surprise saying " I was shocked because I was the first student of the month." But she did feel she deserved it, saying "I worked for it."
April also believes that it is ethical for one student to be picked as the best every month, she also feels that students will try to get this for academic and social reasons. For both of these she said "Yes, it gives kids something to work towards, because they want the swag that comes with being student of the month."
The People around April where very shocked by her being named by the principle as student of the month. Her grades and behavior where not good before. Her parents rented with shock to this news according to April, " They where surprised as I am failing every class. They though I bribed the principle." Her friends saw it happen so they had a different view the event. They knew it happened but according to April "They where jealous of me.".

As April O'Neal descended from the tree, she heard applause. She turned to see nearly her entire school cheering her on in-front of the school. She triumphantly gave the small cat in her arms to the ecstatic Mr. Robinson. Who then declared her student of the month.But this was all part of Aprils plan.
